A small but new feature in Google Keyboard has been added to Google’s keyboard app Gboard. In addition to writing faster, this new feature will help users write typos or irrelevant sentences, that is, write correct sentences. It is called AI-powered writing tools. The new tool can be used on different brands of Android phones.
According to Google, Gboard’s writing tools can make a user’s written message more precise, formal, or more expressive and it can be very useful for higher studies. It will also quickly correct spelling and grammatical errors, leveraging the power of the Gemini Nano model.
Currently, this feature is only available on smartphones that can function with the multimodal Gemini Nano model, which includes phones with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipsets.
This feature is already known to be available on some models from Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. However, Google has not yet officially released the full list.
Gemini Nano was first introduced last year on the Pixel 8 Pro, but initially it was limited to text input. Google later added multimodal capabilities to it, allowing it to work with images and audio as well.
How to use it
After pressing the Gboard button, a small file will first download and then the new feature will be activated. Once activated, it can be used as easily as any other keyboard shortcut.
This feature is available in English, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish on Pixel 9 and later phones which can help the users to write an accurate message.. It’s not yet clear how many languages it will work in on other brands of phones.
