Bangladesh has moved up four places in the World’s Most Powerful Passport Index. Bangladesh is currently ranked 93rd out of 199 countries in the index, up from 97th in 2024. The index, published by UK-based firm Henley & Partners, gave this information.
However, the number of countries where advance visas are not required has decreased. Bangladeshi passport holders can travel to 39 countries without a visa. While Bangladeshi passport holders could travel to 42 countries without a visa in 2024, this year that number has dropped to 39. Among South Asian countries, the Maldives has the most powerful passport, followed by Singapore’s passport at the top.
Singaporean citizens can travel to 193 countries without a visa. Japanese and South Korean passport holders, who are in second place, can travel to 190 countries without a visa in advance.
The organization’s website says that this index of strong passports has been created based on how many countries a country’s passport can be used to visit without a prior visa or with visa-free benefits.
